NAOMI

That's why the women said to Naomi, "Praise be to God, who has been willing to help you today with a redeemer" (Ruth 4:14)

A wise man once said to me, "Don't be too quick to judge whether something is a blessing or a curse for us." Naomi's story reminds me of that.

The name Naomi means "my joy". However, when bad things happen to her, Naomi wants to change her name to adapt to the circumstances she's in. After her husband and sons died, Naomi concluded, "God's hand is stretched out on me!" (Ruth 1:13). When people greeted her, she said, "Don't call me Naomi; call me Mara, for the Almighty has done much bitterness to me" (v. 20).

Naomi did not judge her situation based on her identity as a follower of the one true God and who has expressed unfailing love for His people. He did exactly what most of us tend to do: He judged God by the circumstances he was in. And he misjudged. God's hand was not stretched out on him. In fact, Naomi actually got God's treasure that she had not found. Although Naomi lost her husband and two sons, she was given something she never expected -- a loyal daughter-in-law and a grandson who would inherit a Savior.

From Naomi's life story and experiences, we can see that sometimes the worst things that happen to us can open the door for Allah to give the best things in our lives -- JAL

GOD'S PURPOSE FOR THE EVENTS THAT HAPPENED TODAY
IT MAY NOT APPEAR BEFORE TOMORROW
