When Christ, who is our life, reveals himself later, you too will reveal yourself with him in glory (Colossians 3:4)
Towards the end of his life, the musician Giuseppe Verdi was known as a famous songwriter. But he was not that successful early in his career. When he was young, his musical talent was evident, but he was refused entry to the Milan School of Music because his education and background did not meet the established requirements.
But time allows amazing things to happen. After Verdi's popularity spread throughout the world, the name of the school was changed to Verdi Music School.
Verdi's experience reminds me of what our Lord and all who believe in Him have experienced. The Son of God was rejected by the people where He came from because they thought He had no education or a well-respected family background (Matthew 13:53-58). Even though Jesus spoke the truth in a powerful and undeniable way, and even though the miracles He performed were real, He still did not receive the recognition He deserved. Someday, however, everyone will bow before Him and worship His name (Philippians 2:9-11).
We who have faith in Christ as our personal Savior will share in that great day, because He plans to share the glory with us (Ephesians 1:18; 2 Timothy 2:12; Revelation 22:5). Even if we seem insignificant at first, we can look forward to a happy and glorious ending.
