SINGING FOR GOD

Throughout the night there was weeping, in the morning there was cheering (Psalm 30:6)

Suffering is like a suspicious stranger knocking on your door. Inevitably you have to let him in because he keeps knocking on the door and won't leave.

You feel sure that no one sees your sadness and you feel lonely but God sees the sadness you are feeling and He understands. Every night I flood my bed, with my tears I flood my bed, complains David in Psalm 6:7. God has heard my cry (verse 9). You are the one who counts my sorrows, you put my tears in your bottle. Have you not registered everything? (56:9). Even if there is weeping throughout the night, it will not last forever, for in the early morning there is a shout of joy (30:6).

Like David, we remember that God's love and kindness will last the rest of our lives. He has promised not to leave nor forsake us. When God's love enters our mind, our pain and fear will disappear. Our laments will be turned into dance, our clothes of mourning and sorrow will be released, and we will be bound with joy. We can rise up to welcome the day, shouting praises for the mercy, guidance, and protection He has given us. We rejoice in His holy name (30:12,13).

Whatever our circumstances, let us sing to God once again! HR
