CLEAN CONSCIOUSNESS

That's why I always try to live with a pure conscience before God and people (Acts of the Apostles 24:16)

A very popular children's story, Pinocchio, is the story of a wooden puppet whose nose grows longer when he lies.
His friend Jimmy Cricket said, "Make conscience your guide." Pinocchio also followed his friend's advice. He repented, then returned to Geppetto, his creator. Pinocchio then served Geppetto and was freed from his chains.

There is a principle in this story that is appropriate for God's children. If we don't listen to the inner voice telling us what we should or shouldn't do, our lives will be in shackles. However, a pure conscience will give freedom.

Some people do not have a sound basis for making godly decisions. Their consciences are weak, and they are easily swayed by the attitudes of others. And there are also people whose consciences have been corrupted. The yardstick by which they judge good and evil is depraved, polluted, and unholy (Titus 1:15).

But the saddest are those whose consciences have been "stamped" with lies and error (1 Timothy 4:2). They have rejected their inner voice for so long, that they can no longer listen to the whisper of conscience.

You may ask, "How can we have a clean conscience?" We must repent of sin and turn to our Creator. We must ask Him to renew our desires and attitudes according to His words and then obey them carefully —DHR

CONSCIOUSNESS IS A COMPASS THAT YOU CAN TRUST IF THE WORD OF GOD IS THE CENTER OF OUR LIFE
