WHERE WILL IT END?

When [Jesus] suffered, He did not threaten, but He handed it over to Him, who judges justly (1 Peter 2:23)

Angelo, four, wakes up to find his new hunting puppy chewing on his plastic guitar. This boy is very sad. Her mother was so angry that she rebuked her husband, Tony, while going to the office.

Still annoyed with his wife's unpleasant treatment earlier, Tony gave cold and unreasonable orders to his secretary. The secretary was in a bad mood, and during a coffee break he scolded his fellow secretaries. At the end of office hours, the second secretary goes to her boss and is ready to resign.

An hour and a half later, after struggling with heavy traffic, the boss entered the house. Then he lashed out at little Nelson who left his bike in the garage. Nelson went into his room, slammed the door, and kicked his Scottish terrier.

Where does it all end? Everyone thinks that he has reason to be angry. In fact, in this imaginary situation what is needed is someone who absorbs the unfair treatment and does not pass it on to others.

This is where Christians have a unique opportunity. By knowing the will of the Father, paying attention to the example of the Son, and relying on the help of the Holy Spirit, we can endure bad treatment and show a better attitude toward others. In a chain reaction of frustration and anger like the one above, we can be the last ones and not carry on --Mart De Haan
