GRANTING WITHOUT PAYMENT

Why do you spend money on something that is not bread, and your wages for something that does not satisfy? (Isaiah 55:2)

During a long wait at an airport, I noticed a business in the main terminal that attracted the most people's attention compared to other businesses. Within hours, shoppers kept coming in with money, waiting in line, making deals, and then quickly leaving. Everyone seems to know exactly what they want.

The best-selling business turned out to be a lottery sales agent. Although the odds of winning in a jackpot ball lottery machine are only 1 in 146 million, it seems that people are tempted to buy the lottery and, in almost every case, get nothing. This is a real picture of how we carry out a relentless pursuit for satisfaction and security for worldly possessions.

When God asked His people through the prophet Isaiah, He asked why they were spending money on something that did not benefit or satisfy them. God invites those who have no income to receive "wine and milk without payment ... and you will enjoy the most delicious food. Incline your ear, and come to Me"
(Isaiah 55: 1-3).

God offers to give us something we can't buy—the mercy, forgiveness, and life changes that happen when He's around. He invites us: "Seek the Lord as long as he is pleasing to be found" (verse 6).

Thanks to God's grace, we can freely obtain something from Him, without any payment -DCM

BY RECEIVING GOD'S GRACE
WE WILL EXPERIENCE GOD'S PEACE
