Whoever does this, will not be shaken forever (Psalm 15:5)
Bruce Weinstein is known as the "Man of Ethics". Her books and seminars challenge people to make decisions based on principle, not convenience or self-interest. In his business workshops, he often asks participants, "Why should we be ethical?" He revealed that most of the responses referred to the benefits of honesty and morality, namely avoiding punishment and following a pure conscience. While Weinstein recognizes long-term benefits, he also emphasizes that we do the right thing because it's the right thing to do.
Psalm 15 gives a clear picture of a person whose behavior grows through his fellowship with the living God. The question "Lord, who may stay in Your tent?" (verse 1) answered with examples in everyday life, "He who acts without reproach, who does what is just and who speaks the truth with all his heart" (verse 2). Furthermore, it describes honest relationships with neighbors and friends (paragraphs 3, 4), along with integrity in business and financial matters (paragraph 5). This Psalm ends with the words, "He who acts thus, will never be shaken" (v. 5).
The ethical life is more than a concept only discussed in seminars. Ethical living is an effective way to show the presence of Christ in our lives. Doing the right thing is always the right thing to do --DCM
