LOOK KLOSER

Surrender yourselves to God as people, who were once dead, but who are now alive (Roma 6:13)

My daughter Julie visited Yellowstone National Park, a place renowned for its beauty and majesty. But one part of the park holds a different story.

The unique part is a large piece of land. There was nothing but the sight of "death." Traces of forest fires can be seen from tree trunks covered with soot, burnt branches. What an ugly and sad sight!

Then he took a closer look and saw that there were not only signs of death in the scene. On the ground he saw a new beginning of life. Small plants began to sprout, grass began to grow, and dense undergrowth began to cover the once scorched and barren land. New life has begun to take root.

Sometimes we make the same mistake with new Christians. When we see them, we cannot let go of the shadows of their past before entering a new life in Christ. We focus on the remnants of what they did before meeting Him. But when we get to know them more closely, we will see that there is life. We will see the spiritual growth they experienced.

When we look at our fellow Christians, don't just look at the "burning stubs" of their lives. Instead, let us be thankful and strengthen the new growth that is joyful in their lives --JDB

RATHER THAN LOOKING AT THE PAST ONE
SHOULD LOOK AT THE SPIRITUAL GROWTH HE HAS ACHIEVED
