In the late 1970's, a biophysicist named Harold J. Morowitz of Yale University reached a conclusion that astonishes us about the price that must be paid to make a human body. Included in his calculations: Proteins, enzymes, RNA, DNA, amino acids, and other biochemical substances that contribute to the making of life.
Dr. Morowitz stated, "The assembling of these chemicals to become the cells of the human body may require more than 13,500,000,000,000,000,000 rupiah. To unite thousands of cells into tissues, tissues into organs, and organs into one complete body, might consume all the treasures in this world, and without any guarantee of success."
If we meditate on this, we will be amazed at the wisdom and creative power of God who has created us. But we are much more than a physical body. God gave each of us an eternal spirit that is far more valuable than anything in this world! (Matthew 16:26).
God created us to associate with Him until eternity. That is why when Adam and Eve sinned against the Creator, He did not reject them completely. He loved mankind so much that he had fallen into sin that he willingly gave up his only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to open the way of salvation through his sacrifice on the cross.
We stand in awe, Lord, of Your creation and Your wondrous work of redemption, and we surrender our lives entirely to You -- RWD
