THE TRUTH ABOUT SIN

David had done what was right in the eyes of God ... except in the case of Uriah the Hittite (1Raja 15:5)

One of the problems faced by writers is the challenge of writing crimes honestly. At the time of writing, I want good people to always be good people. However, even the most pious people can make mistakes. So to be trustworthy, writers have to be honest about writing down the evil that lies hidden in good people.

One reason that led me to believe that Scripture is true is that the Author did not cover up the shortcomings of His chosen people. God is honest with the failures of those whom He has chosen as leaders of His people. He doesn't condone their bad behavior, minimize their failures, or pretend they don't exist. He exposed their mistakes, judged them, imposed the consequences, and forgave them.

The most prominent example in Scripture is King David. He not only took other people's wives, but he also killed her husband to cover up his infidelity. Despite having committed a reprehensible act, when he was rebuked, David repented. He became the standard for how the next kings of Israel would be judged because their hearts were "attached to the Lord their God" (1 Kings 15: 3,11).

God knows the hearts of all people, and He is not partial. Although the truth about sin is painful, if acknowledged and forgiven, it can all be used to bring our hearts back closer to God --JAL

It is impossible to hide sin from Allah,
He knows all your heart;
Confession is the most beautiful way
To take a new step. --Sper

YOU CAN'T HIDE YOUR SIN
UNTIL YOU'RE READY TO FACE THEM
