DO YOU WORRY OFTEN?

Do not worry about tomorrow.... A day's troubles are enough for a day (Matthew 6:34)

Worry is a sin. Worry is caused by a lack of faith, or lack of confidence in God's word. Even though they are aware of this, many Christians find it difficult to overcome this sin.

Ponder for a moment the things you have worried about. How many actually happened? And, how many things happened that were never thought of before? We tend to worry about what might have happened but never happened.

I once read about a paratrooper with the United States Army who made more than 50 successful jumps without ever being seriously injured. But on his first day home after being retired from the Army, he tripped over a rug, then fell against a table and broke four ribs! He was very worried about his jump, but nothing happened. In fact, what he never worried about actually happened, namely tripping over the carpet.

So why are we worried? Jesus said that worrying is in vain, because worrying won't change anything (Matthew 6:27). We must remember that our heavenly Father knows our situation and always takes care of us (verses 28-34). We must be sure that He will meet all our needs no matter what tomorrow brings. So, it's much better if we act wisely and believe in God.

Remember, worrying never solves a problem! So, don't be a worry person!--MRD

WORRY DOES NOT FIX THE FUTURE
WORRY ONLY RUINS THE PRESENT
