Jesus Christ...through the gospel has broken the power of death and brought immortal life (2Timothy 1:10)
Our life in Jesus Christ should be shown by the difference in the way we live -- also in the way we die.
God wants us to live with passion and joy. Furthermore, Jesus said that He came to provide us with an abundant life (John 10:10). The Apostle Paul also emphasized that God "gives us all things to enjoy" (1 Timothy 6:17).
Therefore, we cannot deny the fact that our days on this earth are numbered. Something wise to reflect on our inevitable pact with death (Hebrews 9:27)
Is our attitude when we leave this world the same as that of the famous scientist Marie Curie, who and her husband Pierre discovered radium? When her husband died in an accident, she wailed, "This is the end of everything, of everything, of everything!"
Our attitude should be very different. Because of our faith in a death-conquering Saviour, we can say in the words of a young German theologian the night before the Nazis hanged him in 1945, "For me, this is the beginning."
For believers, death is the end of all pain, loneliness and suffering. It is the end of everything that makes life less abundant, and the beginning of blessings unimaginable (Revelation 21:1-6). This hope allows us to cry out, "O death, where is your sting?" (1Corinthians 15:55) -- VCG
CHRIST IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HOPE AND NO HOPE
