GIVER TYPE

May that person be blessed by God who is willing to bestow His faithful love on the living and the dead (Rut 2:20)

At one end of the truck yard where HH Lee worked years ago, there is a coal company. Near the base was a railroad, and several freight trains passed every day. Lee often noticed that the owner of the coal company, a Christian, liked to throw lumps of coal in several places over the guardrails along the tracks. One day he asked the man why he did it.

The man replied, "There's an old lady who lives across the street, and I know her pension isn't enough to buy coal. After the trains passed, she would walk along the tracks and pick up the bits she thought had fallen from the trains." He didn't know that the steam locomotive had been replaced by a diesel engine. I didn't want to disappoint him, so I threw some coal over the fence."

That's Christianity in action! The book of Ruth clearly illustrates this principle of giving. When Boaz saw Ruth gathering grains of wheat behind the reapers in his wheat field, he ordered the harvesters to leave a few handfuls of wheat for him. For Ruth, this is God's blessing.

Likewise, the people whose lives we touch need to experience God's love through our mercy and generosity. Therefore, we need to ask Allah to make us sensitive to opportunities to show kindness --HGB

Do good deeds sincerely,
You may not see the result,
The ripples grow like a torrent
Flowing continuously all the time. --Anon.

KINDNESS IS THE OIL THAT LUBRICATES LIFE
