WORK IN GOD'S GARDEN

Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as to the Lord and not to men (Colossians 3:23)

Kemmons Wilson, founder of an international motel chain, cites several pieces of advice for creating a 'farm' that enhances our employability:

* The five rows of "lettuce": always pray, always ready, always on time, always diligent and always polite.

* Three rows of "onions": get rid of gossip, get rid of criticism, get rid of indifference.

* Five series of "sprouts": love each other more, more loyal, more trustworthy, more selfless, more honest.

* Three rows of "chilli": achieve loyalty in serving God, achieve progress by generating new ideas, achieve achievements with the determination to do better than yesterday.

Today, let's evaluate our attitude towards work. Do we view work as unpleasant but necessary, which deserves the least amount of effort? As a prerequisite for an unprofitable retirement? Or, do we view it as an opportunity to serve God?

"Whatever you do," said Paul, "do it with all your heart, as to God and not to man. You know that it is from God that you will receive your portion as a reward. Christ is Lord and you are His servant" ( Colossians 3:23-24). With this attitude, we can work enthusiastically and with all our hearts, not only to get a salary but for the glory of God [DCM]

WORK BECOMES WORSHIP WHEN IT IS DONE FOR GOD
