PRETEND

So it is with you, on the outside you seem righteous in the eyes of people, but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity (Matthew 23:28)

A man from Massachusetts has been hiding a secret about himself for 11 years. Nobody thought he had a problem. Even at home his behavior seemed normal. Every night after dinner, he always sat holding a newspaper, so that his wife did not know about her husband's problems.

However, he finally couldn't take the pressure anymore of constantly hiding his secret. After years of keeping the secret, the man admits that he is illiterate. All this time he pretended to be able to read.

Many people also pretend in their spiritual life. They look like a Christian. They speak like a Christian, belong to a church, and hide their sins carefully. They are very pious and try to make a good impression. Many people think that they are Christians. But deep in their hearts, these spiritual actors know that they have never acknowledged their sinful condition to God and put their hope in the Lord Jesus Christ as the only hope for salvation. Outwardly they "seem righteous", but spiritually they are "full of hypocrisy and iniquity" (Matthew 23:28).

Have you ever pretended like that? You may be able to lie to others, but you cannot lie to God. He sees your heart. Do not pretend. Accept the Son of God as your Savior. Face reality --Richard De Haan

YOU CAN HAVE A BUSY SPIRITUAL LIFE
WITHOUT A BIT OF SALVATION
