DISPLAY ONLY

All the work they do is only meant for people to see (Matthew 23:5)

There was an increase in the purchase of antique leather bound books. People buy because of the cover, not the content. Interior designers buy such books based on spatial harmony and use them to create a warm, classic feel in the homes of their wealthy clients. The most important thing is whether the books match the room decor or not. A wealthy businessman bought 13,000 antique books he would never read. He just wanted to make it look like a library as a display in his renovated house.

Putting importance on external appearances is good when it comes to decorating your home, but it can be a dangerous way of life. Jesus rebuked many of the religious leaders of His day because they didn't do what they preached. They love receiving compliments and think of themselves as important. Instead of opening the kingdom of heaven to others, they blatantly close the doors of heaven in front of others with their behavior. Of them Jesus said, "All the work that they did was only for people to see" (Matthew 23:5).

God calls us to be people who have spiritual quality, not only outwardly. We must declare His presence within us with humility. "Whoever is greatest among you, let him be your servant" (verse 11).

If we live for Jesus, our "content" is far more important than the outer "cover". We are here not only to be a display --DCM

Let my will flow in His will,

Without asking; without seeking position;
Humble tasks are carried out willingly,
To declare His truth and grace. --Anon.

WHEN GOD CONTROLS YOU FROM THE INSIDE  YOU WILL LOOK PURE FROM THE OUTSIDE
