Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as to the Lord and not to men (Colossians 3:23)
One of the ironies of life occurs on Labor Day in the United States and Canada, when most workers are closed. But that's for good reason. What better way to reward hard working people than to give them a day off!
It seems that Labor Day is the perfect time to take a closer look at what it takes to give our employers the very best.
1. Whatever our assignment, we work for the glory of God (Colossians 3:23). In this case, no job is better than the other. Each of these works must honor God.
2. The way we work can attract the sympathy of those who have not followed Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:11,12). A superior does not need to tell a Christian worker to make good use of time or to work hard.
3. Work is a means of fulfilling our dual purpose: to love God and to love one's neighbor. Showing love to co-workers is a great way to show that we love God (Matthew 22:37-40).
4. We should work for those who depend on us. People who do not care for the survival of their families deserve to be blamed (1Timothy 5:8).
Having a job can mean hard work. Even for those who really enjoy their work, there's nothing wrong with enjoying Labor Day. But before the day when our work on earth is over, our job is to make our work a testimony to the glory of God JDB
WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS NOT HOW LONG YOU WORK
BUT WHAT YOU DO DURING THIS TIME
