Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD! (Psalm 144:15b)
Which nation in the world is the happiest? An article in Time magazine reported that the pollsters had attempted to find a definitive answer to the question -- without success.
In contrast, Gulup's 1992 study stated that France was "among the most unhappy societies on the European continent."
Another study in Germany stated that "less than a third of the population claims to be very happy."
One opinion poll revealed that among British royals, "Fifty-four percent feel their country is a high-minded society." When asked if they wanted to leave the country, "Forty percent said they would pack up their things as soon as possible."
True happiness -- a mood of being filled with joy, joy and hope -- doesn't depend on which country we live in. It depends on a right relationship with God.
As David put it succinctly in Psalm 144:15b: "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord!" Geographical location and race do not determine membership in God's family. Faith in Jesus Christ is what determines this.
Rejoice because as citizens of God's Kingdom we experience true happiness because of His gift -- VCG
