CHOCOLATE AND THE BIBLE

For you have been born again not of mortal seed, but of immortal seed, by the word of God (1Peter 1:23)

Chocolate fans around the world can be sure to recognize the name Cardbury, chocolate produced near the city of Birmingham, England, for more than 100 years. Millions of people have enjoyed Cardbury chocolate, but few know the story of Helen Cardbury, daughter of the chocolate factory's founder.

At the age of 12, Helen Cardbury accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. He was immediately drawn to witnessing and had an urge to grow, so he started bringing his large Bible to school. Because it was impractical, his father gave him a small Bible so he could carry it easily in his pocket. Helen's Christian friends admired her and eventually each of them also obtained a small Bible so that they could carry it with them and read it every day. Shortly thereafter, they formed the Pocket Testament League and began distributing New Testament Bibles to those who promised to read them. A policeman is the first person to accept Christ after being given a free Bible by Helen and her friends.

Pocket Bible Associations have grown worldwide, with members in the millions. The basic idea of sharing God's word with others is a good thing for us. Therefore, always carry the complete Bible or the New Testament with you; read and be a witness to the power of God's word -- DCE

OUR LOVE FOR GOD CAN BE MEASURED THROUGH THE BIGGEST OF OUR DESIRE TO SHARE HIS WORD
