NEVER ALONE

I will never leave you and I will never forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)

Robinson Crusoe, the main character in the novel by Daniel Defoe, is shipwrecked and stranded on an uninhabited island. His life was suffering, but he found hope and comfort when reading God's word.

Crusoe said, "One morning, in a very sad state, I opened the Bible and found this verse, 'I will never leave you and I will never forsake you'. Suddenly I thought that this verse was addressed to me. To whom else was this verse given if not to me in such a way, just when I was lamenting my condition as a person abandoned by God and man?

"'Then,' I said, 'if God does not leave me ... what is there to complain, even if the whole world forsakes me ...?' From that moment on I concluded that I could be happier in this seclusion, in solitude and solitude, than in any other situation in the world. With this in mind I want to thank God for bringing me to this place."

Have you been abandoned by your friend, child, or partner? God has said, "I will never leave you and I will never forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). Thus you can say with full confidence, "God is my Helper. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" (verse 6) --David Roper
