I love you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3)
Safety and feelings of worth are two important elements of healthy emotions. If we feel safe because we are protected from evil and at the same time safe from rejection and loneliness, we are blessed because we have two things that humans really need. Even if we know that we are loved and appreciated, at least by the people who matter to us, then we will feel ourselves worthy.
Meditate on God's words in Romans 8 about the sense of security and preciousness that we have. "If God is on our side, who will be against us?" (verse 31). Furthermore, we know that nothing can separate believers "from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (verses 35-39). These verses show how God truly values us!
Even the greatest human love cannot give us the sense of security and worth we need. Why? The reason is that human life is fleeting. Humans will grow old and die, and their love will eventually fade away. Another reason we know is that in interpersonal relationships, humans tend to sin, change, and be unfaithful.
We need the eternal love of God, the God who is love itself. He views each of us as valuable people. And the Bible states that we have such love in the Person of God's Son, Jesus Christ. His love never leaves us -Vernon Grounds
