Car seat belts save lives. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, passengers sitting in the front seat and wearing seat belts reduce their risk of death by 45%. However, only 10%-15% of people were willing to wear them before the law requiring it was passed in 1980. The use of seat belts in America increased to 68% in 1996, while the remaining 32% continued to ignore the law and challenge fate. .
These facts show clearly the role of the human will in receiving knowledge. We must believe that what we are taught is so important that we can do it without hesitation.
Isaiah 30 describes the danger of stubborn will. God has repeatedly assured the people of Judah that if they are willing to rely on Him, He will be their salvation in difficult times. However, they did not want to listen. Although God had given them many reasons to believe in Him, the nation refused to obey. Therefore, many of them died without receiving His help.
