O Lord and our God, You are worthy of praise and honor and power (Revelation 4:11)
Once during her reign, Queen Victoria of England listened to a sermon given by a priest. The sermon was about the second coming of Christ. The people sitting near the queen's special place could see that the queen was in tears.
After the service, he wanted to meet the pastor alone. When he saw the queen's deep feelings, the priest then asked why the queen was so moved. The Queen replied, "Because of your preaching about the return of the flawless King of the world, I hope I am still alive when He returns so that I can put my crown at His feet!"
There are great rewards for faithful service, which involve our actions and motives. These rewards, referred to as the “crown” in the New Testament, will be earned by those who have received the gift of eternal life.
You may say, "I don't expect any reward for anything I do for Christ." Have you pondered what you could do with whatever crown you received that day? There will be no place to display the chalice in heaven; there will be no shout of triumph over worldly achievements. Sinners who have been redeemed will find great joy in being able to throw their crowns before His throne saying, "Our Lord and God, You are worthy of praise and honor and power" (Revelation 4:11) -- PRV
