Don't worry ... Your Father in heaven knows you need it all (Matthew 6:31,32)
My nephew will soon lose his job. Therefore, I was delighted when I heard from his wife that he had just received an offer for a new position.
"We prayed, I was anxious, and Eric was determined to get a new job," Angie wrote in an e-mail, describing their life journey over the past few months.
We easily panic when faced with serious problems, such as losing a job, a family member with cancer, a child who likes to fight.
We pray, and keep ourselves busy. We start doing everything we think can lead us in a positive direction.
And, we worry. We know that it's just a waste of time. However, many of us are stuck in this dilemma. We know that we must trust God, but we wonder what He might do.
It is time for us to turn to His word, and remember that He walks with us and asks us to cast all our worries and burdens on Him. Scripture declares, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5: 7), and "my God will supply all your needs according to his riches and glory in Christ Jesus"
(Philippians 4:19).
When your mind is worried about the future, remember that "your Father in heaven knows" (Matthew 6:32) and will give you what you need --CHK
