We must keep the poor people in mind (Galatians 2:10)
Congregation of the First Presbyterian Church in Snohomish, Washington, has plenty of leftovers from their 125th birthday celebrations. They decided to give the food to the women and children at a nearby homeless shelter. When the torrential cold rain fell, the volunteers took out the packages, one of which contained a large cake. Someone said, "I hope there is a birthday today." A homeless woman replied, "In here every day is a big day."
Jesus knew what the homeless were going through. He said, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head” (Matthew 8:20). Even so, no one has greater compassion for the poor than Jesus.
James emphasizes the need for believers to help one another materially. He wrote, “If a brother or sister has no clothes and lacks daily food, and one of you says,‘ Goodbye, put on warm clothes and eat to your heart’s content! ’, But it does not give him what his body needs , what's the point? " (James 2: 15,16) .
We must help the spiritually poor to find a heavenly home by sharing the gospel with them, but we must not neglect the poor in material possessions. A heart for God will also be a heart for the homeless -VCG
