KEEP CHASING

I love to be close to God (Psalm 73:28)

The psalmist addresses everything simply: "Apart from you, there is nothing I desire on earth" (Psalm 73:25). All growth in our spiritual life is marked by our moving toward a conclusion, namely the conviction that we only need one thing: God himself.

All developments in the spiritual life are progress in knowing God and loving Him, that is, moving towards the point where we can say like the Israelite poet: "My rock and my portion shall remain God forever" (v. 26).

This perspective changes the way we approach everything. Suffering and misery become the means by which we hunger and thirst for God. Disappointment becomes the tool that stops us from worldly pursuits and moves us toward God himself. Even sin, when regretted, can be a tool to push us closer to Him, so that we can experience His love and forgiveness. All things can be useful if we see them as a means to the main goal, which is drawing closer to God.

Like Paul, we can say, "I am after him, if I can also catch him, because Christ Jesus also caught me" (Philippians 3:12). How do we go after him? The way to do this is to answer His love in humility and gratitude. However, it all starts with God. He is the first to look for us so we can seek Him -DHR

GOD LOVES US SO MUCH
UNTIL WE CAN'T STOP GROWING SPIRITUALLY
