"My grace is enough for you, because it is precisely in weakness that My power becomes perfect." That's why I love to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ will come down to overshadow me (2Corinthians 12:9)
If there's anything we hate more than someone else's pride, it's the awareness of our weaknesses. We hate it so much that we find every way to cover it up.
Even the Apostle Paul needed to be reminded of his weakness. He was pressed by time and was again "given a thorn in the flesh" (2 Corinthians 12:7). Paul does not specifically mention the "thorn" he was suffering from, but J. Oswald Sanders reminds us that whatever the thorn, "it was something that hurt, humiliated and limited Paul's movements." Three times Paul cried out to God to remove the "thorn" from him, but his request was not granted, even though he used the "thorn" in his flesh to ask for God's grace. But God promised him, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Paul steadily began to "accept" all his weaknesses and rely fully on God's grace in facing these trials. This was a stage Sanders called "a gradual educational process" in the apostle's life. Sanders emphasized that in the end Paul no longer saw the "thorn" in his flesh as an "obstacle," but as a "gain." And what Paul means by gain is that if he is weak, then he will be strong in the Lord.
As long as we accept all our weaknesses, we can become strong weak people in Christ -- JEY
