PATIENCE STRATEGY

Trust in the Lord and do good.... Be silent before the Lord and wait for Him (Psalm 37:3,7)

Patience should characterize every believer who seeks to do God's will. This good quality is expressed by John Wooden in his book They Call Me Coach (They Call Me Coach). The author, who was the head basketball coach at UCLA for several years, says, "In the game, it's been my philosophy that patience wins. What I mean is being patient in following our game plan. If we really do it, we We will weaken our opponents and beat them. But if we let go of our style of play, and play their style, then we are in trouble. And if we let our emotions rule the game more than common sense, we will not succeed. I always remind our team, 'Play your game.... And finally, if you play your game, stick to your style, the results will be seen at the end of the game! It's not that we can beat our opponents for sure, but it's for sure we won't let ourselves down.'"

That's why in Psalm 37 God says, "Do what is right and trust in Me. Even if things are so bad that it seems as though you will lose, do My will and leave the results to Me. I promise that in the end you will be a winner." Such a strategy will not only prevent us from causing defeat to ourselves, but will also lead us to great victory! [MRD II]
