DO THE BEST!

Thus we have different gifts according to the grace given to us ... let us do it according to our faith (Romans 12:6)

When Leonardo da Vinci was still sitting at school, his old and famous teacher asked him to finish a painting which he had started. Faced with the teacher's painting, the young da Vinci was so fascinated that he felt inferior. But the teacher did not want to accept any excuse. He just said, "Just do your best."

Trembling, da Vinci took a brush and began to paint. Through stroke after stroke, his hands began to steadily paint when his artistic soul was awakened. Soon he was so engrossed in painting that he no longer felt inferior. When the painting was finished, the old teacher was led into the studio to see it. The teacher hugged his student and said, "My son, from now on I will stop painting!"

Every Christian has a unique God-given talent. Even so, some believers feel inferior because they don't have as many gifts as others. But we shouldn't think like that. God will not demand what we do not have. He only asks us to discover and develop the abilities we have.

Of course not everyone can be like Leonardo da Vinci. And, there's no need for that. The Apostle Paul said, "What is ultimately required of such ministers is that they prove to be trustworthy" (1 Corinthians 4:2). That is, we are only asked to do our best and leave the results to Allah. Who knows, maybe we will surprise ourselves when we see the results! -RWD

THE GREATEST PROFICIENCY IS TO BE TRUST
