What a man sows, that shall he also reap (Galatians 6:7)
Some people age with attractive traits, while others grow old with grumpy and grumpy traits. We need to know where we are growing up because we are all getting older.
One would not become irritable and grumpy just because of getting older. Aging should not make us reprehensible and irritable. Not really. It seems that we become the person we have been for so long.
Paul wrote, "He who sows to the flesh will reap destruction ..., but he who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life ..." (Galatians. 6:8). Those who help others for their own sake and think only of themselves, sow seeds that will produce a harvest of misery in themselves and others. On the other hand, those who love God and care for others, sow seeds that will later produce a harvest of joy.
CS Lewis said, "Every time you make a decision, you are actually changing the core of you, the part of you that is making decisions, into something quite different from what it was before." We can surrender our will to God every day, asking Him for strength to live for Him and for others. When He works in us, attractive qualities and goodness will grow in us.
So, we have to ask: Where do I grow? --DHR
