SAME SERMON

Since then Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near!" (Matthew. 4:17)

There is a story about a man who gave a memorable sermon. He tries to become a pastor in a new church. Everyone loved his sermons and chose him to be their new pastor. However, they were somewhat surprised when the pastor preached the same sermon on his first Sunday there -- and even more shockingly, he preached the same sermon again the following week. After he gave the same sermon for three weeks straight, church leaders came to see him to find out why. The pastor assured them, "I know what I'm doing. When all of you have started to carry out the message of the sermon in your life, then I will give another sermon."

Jesus often preached with recurring themes. Don't be surprised, it's because the King of kings wants to make sure that His people understand what they need to be a part of His kingdom. He gives orders throughout the world, which are very different from those that humans are used to in this life. Themes such as forgiveness, service, and unconditional mercy and grace He repeatedly preached.

Two thousand years later, it turns out that we too need that same sermon. As soon as we begin to repent and live under the authority, reign and power of Jesus the King, we will feel the benefits for our lives, namely to glorify His name and to be a blessing to others --JS

The Bible gives us guidance
To live glorifying His name,
But it is useless if we don't read
And obey all His commands. --Sper

THE PREACHING IS NOT COMPLETE IF IT IS NOT PRACTICED
