NO REVENGE

Do not let the sun go down before your anger is quenched (Ephesians 4:26)

Once there was a boy who had an argument with his older brother and the experience left a bitter feeling inside him. When his brother wanted to straighten things out, he didn't want to listen to his explanation. In fact, he did not want to talk to his brother all day.

Bedtime came, and their mother said to her sister, "Don't you think you need to forgive your brother before you go to sleep? Remember, the Bible tells us, 'Let the sun not set, until your anger is extinguished'" (Ephesians 4:26). The child looked confused. He thought for a moment then said, "But how can I prevent the sun from setting?"

The attitude shown by the younger brother reminds me of the attitude of some Christians.
They are angry with someone and hold grudges. When faced with their unforgiveness and asked to rectify the problem, they shy away and do not want to obey the clear instructions of Scripture. It is true that we cannot change the hearts of others. However, we are responsible for our own attitude. The Bible says, "Be kind to one another, loving and forgiving one another, just as God in Christ has forgiven you" (Ephesians 4:32).

We can't prevent the sun from setting. However, we can stop getting angry before the sun goes down. And that means we have to spare --RWD
