FIND THE MEANING

How is it possible that I commit this great crime and sin against God?  (Genesis 39:9)

Several online dictionaries report the words that people search for most on their sites annually. For 2005, the most popular words were refugee, pandemic, tsunami and embankment. Due to the various calamities that occurred in the world that year, we can easily understand why people searched for those words.

The most searched word in the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary that year was integrity. The definition given by the dictionary is: "steadfast adherence to a code of conduct, especially one of moral or artistic value." The word is used to describe people who refuse to be bribed or corrupted morally. Why is the word at the very top? Is it possible because integrity is so rare, that many people no longer know what integrity looks like in one's life?

Through His words, God gave us an example of integrity in the life of Joseph. Potiphar had given him authority "in his house and over all that he had" (Genesis 39:5). When he was invited to commit lewdness by his master's wife, Yusuf refused. He said thus, "How is it possible that I commit this great evil and sin against God?" (verse 9). He knows the standards set by God, and he chooses to defend the truth, even if for that he has to sacrifice his freedom.

Integrity -- look for that word in Genesis 39. Then do it in strength from God --AMC

THERE IS NO LEGACY AS RICH AS INTEGRITY
