DIGITAL TRANSMISSION

I have set an example for you, that you also should do as I have done to you (John 13:15).

In 2000, a film was transmitted digitally over the internet from a studio in California for its world premiere in Atlanta, Georgia. The film is transferred directly from the studio to the cinema screen, without the use of film rolls. Digitally, electronic impulses are used to replace large rolls of celluloid.

In this age of electronics often described as "high-tech, low-touch," it's good to remember that God uses another type of "digital transmission." Instead, God uses "high-touch" technology to communicate His grace and love.

In English, the word digital comes from the word digit, which refers to our fingers. When I think about Jesus' life and ministry, I remember how He used His hands to give hope and healing. He touched the sick, carried little children, broke bread for the hungry, and let His hands be nailed to the cross for our sins. In John 13 we read that Jesus showed amazing humility by washing the feet of His disciples and saying to them, "If I then wash your feet, I am your Lord and Teacher, then you too must wash each other's feet" (verse 14). ).

When we humble our hearts and surrender to Him, God will still transmit the Gospel of His grace to others, through the touch of our human love --David McCasland
