If you seek him, he will be found by you (1 Chronicles 28: 9)
Tourists rarely get good photos. They rarely try to go to the right place at the right time to get the right angle of light, in the right weather conditions. In order to get good landscape images, a professional photographer carefully observes the scene from different angles, during different seasons, and at different hours.
This makes me wonder if the reason why some people do not have a clear picture of the beauty and glory of God is because they are too quick to judge. They come to wrong conclusions about God based on a bad experience in church, or their encounter with someone who claims to be a Christian but doesn't live like a Christian. They misjudged what God was like, and turned away from Him because they felt cheated.
The search for God cannot be done casually. King David told his son Solomon, “If thou seek him, he will be found of thee” (1 Chronicles 28: 9). The Psalmist said, "Blessed are those who ... seek Him with all their heart!" (Psalm 119: 2). And the writer of Hebrews writes that God rewards "those who earnestly seek Him" (11: 6).
To see and know God in His fullness and glory, we cannot approach like tourists. We must continue to seek Him with all our hearts --Julie Ackerman Link
