MISTRY PARENTS

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Some people will do anything to save money. I read about a miserly uncle who invited his nephews to look for arrowheads in his backyard. But before the search began, he ordered the boys to remove all the stones and weed the bushes in the yard. By the time everything was done, it was too late for them to look for arrowheads. Finally, they realized there were no arrowheads there. When complaining to their father, the father said, "My miserly brother has tricked you into working all day." Those children will not easily forget how they have been taken advantage of.

There's nothing wrong with being frugal. That is good financial management. However, it is not true that for reasons of frugality, you do not want to pay the wages that a child deserves.
The stinginess that makes others feel humiliated and suffer is not something our God wants. In 1 Timothy 6:18, we learn that we must "do good" and be "ready to give and willing to share." We must be just, generous, and generous people.

God is the greatest giver. He gave His Son, in an amazing sacrifice to give us new life (John 3:16). Let us follow the example of His love and mercy, so that we will not be called "stingy parents" --Dave Egner
