BE REALISTIC

When I am afraid, I believe in you (Psalm 56:4)

Only a small percentage of us will go to heaven without feeling afraid. Which of you will honestly admit that you have always put this verse into practice: "In God I trust, I have no fear" (Psalm 56:12). Even though we really believe in God, but sometimes we feel anxious because of being gnawed by fear. Usually, our belief in God is mixed with worry.

Even the Apostle Paul, who wrote many of the letters in the New Testament, sometimes had worries. He confessed before the Corinthians, "I also came to you in weakness and with great fear and trembling" (1 Corinthians 2:3).

So, don't worry if you have any worries! You don’t have to pretend not to feel worried. If you are bothered by your worries, acknowledge that feeling. Then share the concerns with a friend you can trust. And most importantly, share your concerns with a loving Friend, Jesus Christ. He knows your every thought and feeling (Psalm 139: 4). Lovingly He will say to you, "Fear not" (Luke 12:32). Ask for His grace to help you overcome all fears and worries. Then "Wait for the LORD! Be strong and of good courage!" (Psalm 27:14).

If in the journey of life you feel afraid, trust in the Lord (Psalm 56: 4) --Vernon Grounds
