so now there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8: 1).
According to British novelist Aldous Huxley, "There is no step back on the chessboard of life." Yet we remain aware of the things we have done and the things we have let go of. Our sins make us anxious. Those sins prompt us to hope very much to make up for the past.
Therefore, those who put faith in Jesus can be grateful for God's message, both in the Old Testament and the New Testament. When Paul preached in Antioch, he said, “And in him [Jesus] every one that believeth is forgiven of all sins, which ye cannot obtain by the law of Moses” (Acts 13:39). The law brings death to us (Romans 7: 10,11), but Jesus offers deliverance and new life (8: 1).
Are you worried about something you have done in the past? Rejoice! God has "cast all our sins into the depths of the sea" (Micah 7:19). Are you still worried about your sins? Rejoice! “I will remember their sins and iniquities no more” (Hebrews 10:17). And “I have taken away all the sins of your rebellion like a mist blown away by the wind, and all your sins like a blown cloud” (Isaiah 44:22).
If you believe and ask Him to forgive you, your past is completely forgotten. "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us" (Psalm 103: 12). Believe and rejoice! -VCG
