WHAT IS TRUE?

Stop doing evil, learn to do good; seek justice, control the cruel (Isaiah 1: 16,17)

One morning when my computer greeted me with a "blue screen of death", I knew it was broken, but I didn't know how to fix it. I read and tried a few things, but ended up having to ask an expert for help. Knowing that something is wrong is only a small part of the problem; I can't fix it because I don't know what to do.

The problem reminded me of the experts who appeared on television news shows. They are all "experts" at finding fault, but most of them have absolutely no idea what is right.

This also happens in human relationships. In our family, church, and workplace, we often find fault, so that there is no improvement. Even without the help of an expert we know that something is wrong when people start arguing and hurting each other with harsh words and behavior. However, to know how to fix it, we really need an expert.

God revealed to the prophets of Israel not only what is wrong, but also what is right: "Cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, rule the wicked; plead the cause of the fatherless, plead for the widow." (Isaiah 1: 16,17).

Instead of focusing our attention on finding fault, let us obey the Person who knows what is right --JAL

THE BIBLE ALWAYS POINTS
IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION LIKE A COMPASS
