If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it (1Corinthians 12:26)
When my children were young, one of them stumbled and winced in pain. When I watched him trying to get over his pain, I said, Son, I'm sad too. My father's leg hurts.
Looking up, he looked at me and replied to my earlier statement, "Well, Dad's leg doesn't really hurt, does it?
No, I didn't feel the physical pain, but I felt the pain too. I even wished that somehow the pain could be transferred to my body.
The Apostle Paul tells us that all believers who are in Christ are part of one body (1 Corinthians 12:13). And if one part of the body feels suffering, then all the members suffer with it (verse 26).
Do you grieve when a brother in the faith is in trouble? Are you disturbed when a believer falls into sin and suffers punishment from God's hand? Does your heart grieve when a child of God is going through great troubles and trials? If not, ask God right now to help you become a person who can share grief with others and sympathize with them.
Yes, to every Christian we meet and are under pressure, we must be ready to say from our hearts, I feel your pain -RWD
