WHEN THE SUN DOESN'T SHINE

Praise the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his goodness! (Psalm 103: 2)

Often times we take God's blessings for granted until they are taken from us. Then we realize how meaningful God's grace is, even for the most common of things.

There is a legend about the day when the sun did not shine. At six o'clock in the morning, the sky was still dark. At seven in the morning it was still night. Day came, but the atmosphere was still like midnight. Finally, at four o'clock in the afternoon, people gathered in several churches to pray for the sun to God.

The next morning, a crowd gathered outside the house and looked up at the eastern sky. When a ray of sunlight opened up to dawn, the people shouted and praised Allah for that sun.

The psalmist understood that it was impossible for him to remember all the good God had done for him. He was sad because he might have forgotten those things. Then he gripped her limp soul, shook it, and forced her to think of some of the gifts God had given her.

Because God's goodness is like the sun, we are in danger of forgetting what He pours out for us every day. If we count the blessings one by one, we will never be able to complete them. But if we list 10 or 20 gifts that God gives us every day, something will happen to our hearts.

Let us try and we will find out the HWR result for ourselves
