WHAT IS THE BIBLE PRICE?

God, to whom are we going? You have the words of eternal life (John 6:68)

A missionary working in Underground Evangelism tells the story of a believer in Russia before the fall of Communism there. When he found out that a friend of his had obtained a Bible, he asked to borrow it. However, the owner of the Bible reads this precious book every evening until 10 o'clock in the evening. Therefore every night, for 8 months, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., this faithful believer diligently copied his friend's Bible. Finally, when some Christian friends visited him with Bibles, he exchanged his handwritten love works for several Bibles.

Imagine if you couldn't get a Bible. How much money are you willing to pay to get it? Let us consider this question in more depth!

When Jesus' teachings began to "disturb" those who followed Him, many chose to leave Him (John 6: 60-66). So He also asked His disciples, "Aren't you going to go too?" (verse 67). Peter answered, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have sayings of eternal life" (verse 68). Peter knew that Jesus was the living Word, that is, God incarnated in flesh. That is why, he is willing to give up everything in this life to follow Him who is the Way, Truth, and Life.

Are we as committed as Peter? Do we have the devotion of that believer from Russia? How much are we willing to pay for the Bible? For our Lord? -VCG
