LEAKING POOL

They left Me, the source of living water, to dig a pool for themselves, a pool that leaks, which cannot hold water (Jeremiah 2:13)

Imagine that you are swinging a hoe, digging from sunrise to sunset, carving a pool out of solid rock. You keep working, through biting winters and scorching summers.

After years of hard work, you finally got the job done. Then you step back and wait for your pool to fill up, but it turns out that the pool is leaking. You get, but it is too late, that all pools, no matter how well built they are, will leak.

The story above is a picture of the futility of our efforts to find satisfaction in life. It has been a problem since the beginning of time.

God told the prophet Jeremiah that His people had forsaken Me, the source of living water. Instead, they have wasted their energy for the sake of a leaking pool, which cannot hold water (Jeremiah 2:13)
.
Is your soul thirsty and longing for contentment? There is a source of living water, emerging from hidden depths, flowing into our hearts, satisfying us so that it makes us want to enjoy it. Bend over and drink.

Only God can satisfy our hearts. Other things are just deceptive and disappointing. Whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never be thirsty, said Jesus.

Instead the water that I will give him, will be a fountain in him, flowing continuously until eternal life (John 4:14) DHR

IS THE ONLY WATER OF LIFE THAT CAN SATISFY THE THIRSTY SOUL
