INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP

We thank God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ always when we pray for you (Colossians 1: 3)

In 1947, Nadia from Bulgaria and Millicent from the United States were pen friends. Over the years they have exchanged photos, school experiences, and dreams. But then, their letters stopped when there was a government policy that prohibited personal relations with Western countries.

After years of political upheaval and change, Millicent suddenly wanted to send a letter to Nadia's final address. It's very encouraging, the letter arrived. Long before, they both knew that they were married to doctors and collected shells. 48 years after their first letter, the two friends finally met at the Miami international airport. In that place Millicent exclaimed, "Nadia! I will find you wherever you are!"

The Apostle Paul's letter is overflowing with love and gratitude to his friends. In his letter to the church at Colossae, he wrote, “We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, whenever we pray for you” (1: 3). His letter also encouraged their journey with Christ (verse 10).

Every friendship is a gift from God. However, nothing goes deeper than the relationship between people who share a bond in Christ. In fact, Jesus commanded his disciples, "This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you" (John 15:12) . In him, friendship becomes an inexhaustible treasure --MRD II
