ABLE TO FORGET?

I thank my God every time I remember you (Philippians 1: 3)

I attended a friend's funeral on a cold, gloomy November day. During the speech in memory of my friend, the wife who was left behind started sobbing. At that time, the shepherd spoke odd words of comfort: "It's okay. You will be able to forget it someday."

Being able to forget? The widow's expression made it clear that she didn't want to forget it. The cherished memories of her husband provide the reassurance and joy that she will hold onto, hoping that one day they will meet again in heaven.

One of the most precious gifts Allah has given us is the ability to remember. There are many hurts and disappointments in life that we should forget. However, a good memory will become a treasure chest filled with precious memories of a happy relationship and the joy you feel.

Regarding the time he spent with the Philippians, Paul felt the same way: "I thank my God every time I remember you" (Philippians 1: 3). His ability to remember his friends in Philippi provided great comfort while awaiting trial in Rome, and also encouraged him to pray for them with joy. You can never convince him that comfort is found when we are able to forget, for he rejoices when he is able to remember.

God gives many precious memories. Remember those memories when grief comes --WEC
