So that you present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God (Romans 12:1)
In his book, The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell observes that a struggling business can often turn heads because of one important decision. Now many companies, which have just been established, are progressing and succeeding because of a choice that becomes the fulcrum.
While it is intended for those in the field of business management, it can also be applied by those who are committed to furthering Christ's cause. Sometimes we feel we are against a wall, struggling with decisions or situations that threaten to cripple our capacity to effectively serve the King. It is at this critical point that we can make a "fulcrum" decision to change course.
And, what is your decision? Surrender your will and heart to God. James 4:7 says, "Submit yourselves to God," and Romans 12:1 tells us, "That you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God." Sacrifice our various purposes for His greater purpose.
What if Noah said to God, "I don't want to build an ark!" What if Joseph did not forgive his brothers and failed to protect them from the hunger that threatened their lives? Or, what if Jesus refused to die on the cross?
Surrender is the fulcrum. When we make that decision, God can use us to do great things for Him --JMS
