LEADERSHIP

From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required (Luke 12:48)

Leadership is a God-given privilege. There is no greater satisfaction than what comes when we unselfishly seek the spiritual and physical well-being of those entrusted under our protection or care.

William Wilberforce, a renowned ruler of England from 1780 to 1833, died in satisfaction because the acquittal proclamation for which he had so much time and effort fought was about to be ratified at that time. The end of slavery in the British empire is certain.

On the other hand, leadership is not always rewarded. One woman I know, who played a mother and Sunday school teacher, died of satisfaction. He was grateful that God had entrusted all these responsibilities to him and given him the ability to carry them out with dignity.

However, leadership can be abused. Those who vie for prestige, power, and pride will one day have to give an account to Allah. Psalm 82 describes God's judgment on leaders who only seek self-satisfaction.

One day we too will have to take responsibility for our lives. Therefore let's carry out the role given by God by truly realizing that "everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required of him" (Luke 12:48) [HVL]

ONLY BY FOLLOWING CHRIST
WE CAN LEAD OTHERS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
