SATISFIED

Be content with what you have (Hebrews 13:5)

One dim, rainy morning, I sat in the study and looked out the window. I saw a fat magpie pulling three worms from the grass, swallowing them and then flying up the telephone wire. Only three meters away from me, the bird began to sing. For half an hour I sat and enjoyed the magpie's rendition of "Praise the Lord!"

The magpie didn't complain about the color or size of the worm, he was satisfied with what he had found. He was really satisfied. He was very happy with what his heavenly Father had prepared for him.

A young girl whose father was a whiner said to her mother, "I know everyone's favorites in this house. Johnny likes hamburgers, Janie likes ice cream, Willie likes bananas and Mommy likes chicken." His father, irritated that he had not been included in his list, asked, "What about you? What do you like?" The innocent girl replied, "Father likes everything we don't have."

Apostle Paul said, "I have learned to be self-sufficient in all circumstances" (Philippians 4:11). We also read in Hebrews 13:5, "Be content with what you have. For God has said: 'I will never leave you and I will never forsake you.'" These words are enough to satisfy anyone even [MRD]
