He entered a house and did not want anyone to know about it, but His arrival could not be kept secret (Mark 7:24)
Rose perfume is one of Bulgaria's most valuable products and is subject to high export taxes. Once a tourist, unwilling to pay taxes, hid two small bottles of this precious oil in his suitcase. However, there was a bit of perfume that had been spilled in the case. Upon arriving at the train station, the scent of the perfume had spread from within the suitcase, thus proclaiming the hidden treasure. The authorities soon found out what the man had done and confiscated the expensive souvenir.
The same goes for the Lord Jesus. He couldn't keep it a secret either. Crowds always flocked to Him. They want to hear words of wisdom, receive His forgiveness, and ask for His mercy.
After He ascended into heaven to His Father, Jesus' influence continued in the lives of His disciples. The crowds realized that they were with Jesus (Acts 4:13). Their attitudes and behavior signify that they are His true followers.
Are you really living for Jesus? Is the love of Christ so real in your life that those who know you can recognize that you are a follower of Him who "can't keep a secret"? (Mark 7:24). If that is the case, then the world will easily see that you are on God's side. Your influence cannot be kept secret —HGB
