Praise God, O my soul, and do not forget all His goodness! (Psalm 103:2)
Sometimes we wake up with aching joints, a sluggish spirit, and wondering how we can get rid of our lethargy and live each day well.
Here is an idea: Try to thank God like David. Think and remember all the "goodness" of God that you deserve to be thankful for (Psalm 103:2). Gratitude will bring joy.
Thank God for His forgiveness. He "forgave all your transgressions" (verse 3), and "threw all our sins into the depths of the sea" (Micah 7:19).
Thank Him for your healing (verse 3). God uses weakness and sickness to draw you closer to His love and care. And, one day when God comes to you, He will heal all your sicknesses.
Thank Him for the redemption of your life from destruction (verse 4). It does more than save you from an early death. It's liberation from death itself.
Be thankful to Him for crowning your life with "faithful love and mercy" (verse 4).
Give thanks to Him who satisfies your desires (v. 5). He is the source of your satisfaction. Every day, He renews your strength and spirit. Thus your spirit will rise and soar like an eagle.
